Positive Touch 3 - One Day Workshop
Positive Touch 3 is the third of the Introductory Courses to Massage held at the Positive Health School of Massage and Aromatherapy. You will need to have completed the Positive Touch 1 and Positive Touch 2 courses before attending this workshop.
The aim of this course is to introduce you to the energy fields of the body and the intention that has to accompany the massage techniques that have been learned in Positive Touch 1 and Positive Touch 2. We will also touch on how colours affect mood and how touch affects emotional state. It is an introductory course only, and afterwards you should be competent enough to massage friends and family members for relaxation purposes - to release the three Ts – tension, tightness and toxins. It will not equip you to practice as a massage therapist for gain. There are Diploma Courses for that.
What you will learn on the day:
Review the benefits of massage
Review the contra-indications to massage
How to detect auras
How to tune in to the energy of the body on which you are working
The power of intention
An introduction to massage and the emotions
How to combine these forces with the Swedish Massage techniques for front and back of the body
The day will be broken into 4 quarters, with 2 breaks for tea and 1 for lunch.
At the end of the day you should be able to:
List 5 contra-indications to massage
Detect a body's energy field
Detect areas of pain or discomfort in muscles with your hands
Use colour to affect mood
Use intention and energy in massage to affect emotions
Give a full body massage
Time: 09H30 – 17H00
Venue: Sulis Meadows, Bath (See map)
DATE OF NEXT WORKSHOP: TBA (arranged to suit the students who have completed the previous two courses)
Class size: Max. 12 students. You will work in pairs on massage tables and on mats on the floor. You are encouraged to bring along a friend/husband/wife/partner. However, we will have people with whom you can work if you come on your own and you will never feel awkward – our course is designed using Accelerated Learning techniques and your participation makes it enjoyable for all. This workshop takes into consideration all you have learned on the previous 2 courses and is somewhat advanced, but oh, so necessary to be able to give a GOOD full body massage to your family members and friends. Intention is the key.
To bring: Pad and pencil, two bath sheets and lunch. Please wear loose, old clothes. No tight jeans or flowing skirts. Please cut your nails short. If your hair is long, please bring something with which to tie it back.
Consumables such as oils for massage, massage tables, tea and coffee and a manual of the techniques you will learn, to take away with you, will be provided. A certificate of attendance will be handed out.
TUTOR: TBC
